NVMe dedicated servers

78 servers with NVMe storage, from $74 a month. NVMe drives talk to the CPU over PCIe, which gives far lower latency and higher throughput than SATA disks.

Workloads that need NVMe

Databases with working sets larger than RAM, Elasticsearch and OpenSearch clusters, container registries, build servers and video transcoding all spend much of their time waiting on storage. Moving them to NVMe often does more than a faster CPU would.

For most websites a SATA SSD server is enough and usually cheaper.

Questions people ask

How much faster is NVMe than SSD?

Sequential reads are typically three to six times faster, and random IO latency is lower. The real gain depends on how storage-bound your workload is.
